At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

describe evidence based data to inform decision regarding treatment of acute sinusitis. discuss factors to consider when recommending a specific drug and duration of therapy;
describe available data to inform whether contact precautions are warranted in patients with ctx-r/esbl-producing enterobacterales. evaluate strength of evidence supporting contact isolation, rates of cross transmission, role of the environment, and utility of active surveillance for identification of colonized individuals;
describe if and when plasma microbial cell-free dna sequencing should be used in the diagnosis of infections in pediatric patients. evaluate the strength of evidence supporting routine or broad use of mgs from plasma. identify patient populations or clinical scenarios where use of this testing would be most beneficial.
