April Dyer, PharmD, MBA, MSCR, BCPS is a liaison clinical pharmacist with the Duke Antimicrobial Stewardship Outreach Network (DASON). In this role, she consults with community hospital antimicrobial stewardship programs to obtain, collect, report, and interpret antibiotic use data to design targeted interventions to improve antibiotic use at the facility. She has over 8 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in the community hospital setting, during which time, she started and co-led the antimicrobial stewardship program at my previous hospital. She has presented research on total durations of antimicrobial therapy, as well as on the novel metric of targeted antimicrobial use admission as an actionable denominator for evaluating inpatient length of therapy. Her research interests include the development of novel antimicrobial stewardship metrics and data solutions to improve antibiotic use.
