Dr. Burdet, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Therapeutics in the Clinical Investigation Center at the Université Paris Cité and Bichat hospital in Paris.
He completed a residency and fellowship in Infectious Diseases and in Public Health at Université Paris Diderot.
He defended his PhD in 2018, working on the impact of antibiotics on the intestinal microbiota under the supervision of Pr Mentré. He specifically worked on quantifying the relationship between individual fecal exposure to antibiotics and the loss of bacterial diversity in the intestinal microbiota over time. He did a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Université Laval in Prof. Corbeil's bioinformatics laboratory, where he gained a better understanding of data processing with high-throughput sequencing methods.
He was then appointed as an Associate Professor in Therapeutics at Université Paris Cité. His current research interests include the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of anti-infective agents, and their impact in the gut microbiota.
