I am a PhD scientist with a broad background that includes postdoctoral work in infectious disease, a master’s in public health epidemiology, and international work as a Peace Corps Volunteer. As an EIS officer I was involved in helping tackle Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM), measles, mumps, herpes zoster in immunocompromised patients, and vaccine policy. I am currently working at CDC with the Clinical and Environmental Microbiology branch. We use advanced molecular techniques including whole genome sequencing and analyses to help track and contain healthcare-related outbreaks and antimicrobial resistance.
