Dr. Egge is a physician scientist and Assistant Professor of Medicine (Division Infectious Diseases) at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon, where she joined the faculty in 2023. Her primary research and clinical interests pertain to combatting antimicrobial resistance, particularly in its role in morbidity and mortality of the immunocompromised host. She has focused most of her work on understanding the role of anti-pseudomonal beta-lactam heteroresistance and how this phenotype impacts clinical P. aeruignosa infection treatment outcomes and resistance risks. Dr. Egge has particular research training in antimicrobial resistance via the Texas Medical Center training program for antimicrobial resistance T32 (2022-2023) under mentorship of antimicrobial resistance experts Drs. William R. Miller and Cesar A. Arias (Houston Methodist/Weill-Cornell). She completed her infectious diseases clinical fellowship training at University of Texas/MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston-TX), where she first developed her on-going research and clinical interests in combatting and preventing antimicrobial resistance infections of the immunocompromised host.
