Dr. Todd McCarty is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is the ID Fellowship Program Director and provides clinical care in the areas of general ID, transplant and immunocompromised ID, and HIV. Scholarly interests include diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship, epidemiology of fungal infections, and clinical trials of novel anti-fungals. In addition, Dr. McCarty is a faculty mentor for a learning community of ~65 medical students spanning all 4 years of the curriculum.
