Dr. Dobrzynski received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Bucknell University and his Doctorate of Medicine from Albany Medical College. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center(WFBMC) in Winston-Salem, NC. He continued on as faculty at WFBMC as an Assistant Chief of Medicine for the following year. He then went on to complete his Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
He joined the faculty at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2018. He currently sees inpatients on the General Infectious Diseases consult service as well as outpatients in the general ID Clinic. He also serves as Program Director of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program and Medical Director for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Strong Memorial Hospital.
His main clinical research interests include respiratory viral infections, COVID-19 therapeutics, and antimicrobial stewardship. He is a co-investigator with the URMC Vaccine Trial and Evaluation Unit (VTEU).
He also remains active in teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
