Nada Fadul is a Professor of Medicine, Assistant Dean for Inclusive Education, and Medical Director of the Specialty Care Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).
She completed her medical degree from the University of Khartoum-Faculty of Medicine in Sudan and subsequently completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois; a Palliative Care fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center; and an Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Texas-Houston. She has clinical expertise in the management of complex HIV cases and the long-term complications of the disease and its treatment. Her research focuses on implementation science approaches to HIV care, patient outcomes and health services research on HIV disparities. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, authored several abstracts and book chapters, presented her research at national and international meetings, received regional and national awards for her work, and mentored dozens of students and trainees.
She serves as the Chair of the Awards Committee and the Board of Directors of HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA). She also served as a member of the HIVMA Leadership Development and the IDSA Quality Improvement Committees; and as an HIVMA/IDSA advocacy liaison. She was chosen to join the inaugural IDSA Leadership Institute and is a fellow of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program.
Dr. Fadul is active in global health and currently runs the UNMC Sudan ECHO Global Hub, which disseminates knowledge to healthcare professionals in Sudan and founded the Sustainable Development Response Organization (SuDRO). Her local and global work emphasizes community engagement, cultural sensitivity, and health equity. She is active in advocacy for justice, human rights and sustainable development issues facing LMIC and volunteers at several local and national community and professional organizations; She enjoys writing Arabic poetry, reading, and traveling with her family.
