Dr C. Mary Healy is Associate Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston, Texas. She received her medical degree from the National University of Ireland (Cork) and completed pediatric training there. She completed fellowships in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and in Vaccinology and Vaccine-preventable Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. Her research interests are in vaccine clinicatl trials with a particular focus on preventing infections in mothers and infants through maternal immunization and on improving vaccination rates in all age groups—from infants to adults. She is an investigator with the National Institutes of Health funded Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit at Baylor College of Medicine and an active investigator on clinical trials of Mpox, RSV, COVID, influenza and other vaccines.
In addition to serviing on the ID week Program Committee, Dr Healy is a member of the Committee of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and serves as the AAP liaison to the meningococcal workgroup of the Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices and the IDSA Standard and Guideline committee. She is a past chair of the Committee of Infectious Diseases for the Texas Medical Association.
