Sarah Krein, PhD, RN is a Research Career Scientist at the VA Ann Arbor Center for Clinical Management Research. She is also a Research Professor of Internal Medicine, with an adjunct appointment in the School of Nursing, and the Rensis Likert Collegiate Professor at the University of Michigan. She has a clinical background in nursing and a PhD in Health Services Research. During her more than 25 years as a research health scientist, Dr. Krein has been involved in research funded by the VA, NIH, AHRQ and CDC, to enhance patient safety, with a focus on preventing healthcare-associated infections. This includes studies to better understand and improve care delivery in both acute and long-term care settings.
