Jennifer O. Spicer, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine. She received a combined Medical Degree and Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University in 2012. She completed her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine followed by her Infectious Diseases fellowship at Emory University where she joined the faculty in July 2019.
She completed additional training in medical education through the Harvard Macy Institute’s inaugural class for the Program for Post-Graduate Trainees: Future Academic Clinician-Educators in 2013, and she used skills from that course to create a Medical Education Elective for residents and students at Emory University in 2016. She is currently completing a Masters degree in Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Dr. Spicer has received numerous teaching awards throughout her residency and fellowship training. Her educational roles as faculty include serving as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency program, the Director of the Distinction in Medical Education for the Internal Medicine residency program, and Course Director in the medical school.
Her research interests are in curriculum development and evaluation, active learning techniques, and career development for medical educators.
