I am a practicing Infectious Diseases (ID) physician and Medical Microbiologist with formal training in clinical research. Administratively, I serve as Director of the Transplant Infectious Diseases Service at the University of Utah (U of U) Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Center and am Section Chief for Medical Microbiology within ARUP Laboratories. ARUP is the clinical diagnostic laboratory for the U of U Health System as well as a large national reference laboratory. My primary academic interest is in the development and validation of novel diagnostic approaches for infection complicating transplantation and cancer care.
