An internationally recognized authority on molecular imaging of infection, Christopher J. Palestro, MD, FSNMMI, FACNM, Professor of Radiology at the Zucker School Of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, has published more than two hundred peer reviewed articles and 100 reviews/chapters and has lectured around the world. He has been a reviewer for the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, European Journal of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging, and Radiology, among others. Dr. Palestro has been an associate editor of Radiology, and currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, Quarterly Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Brazilian Journal of Health and Biomedical Sciences, and Hemato. A life member and past chair of the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, Dr. Palestro also has chaired the ACGME Nuclear Medicine Residency Review Committee and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Advisory Committee on Medical Uses of Isotopes. He has received the SNMMI’s Presidential Distinguished Educator Award and at the present time chairs the Society’s AUC Workgroup for Imaging Infection and Inflammation as well as the Value Initiative’s Workforce Pipeline Domain.
