Sara Rogers is a board-certified nurse practitioner in central New Mexico and has been a nurse practitioner for over a decade. She received her MSN and DNP at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2014, her doctoral project examined the appropriate utilization of urinalyses in the diagnosis of urinary tract infections in long-term care patients as a modality for antimicrobial stewardship. She recently completed a post-graduate certificate in adult and geriatric acute care at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America since 2012. Her interests include the evolving role of nurse practitioners in infectious disease, focusing on developing formalized infectious disease training and specialty certification for nurse practitioners.
