Surgical Critical Care Fellow
University of Chicago
I am surgeon scientist with research interests in how the gut microbiota shapes the patient response to traumatic injury, surgical stress, and critical illness. In particular, I study how the gut microbiota shapes the host immune response to infection and plays an important role in survival from lethal infection and sepsis. I completed my general surgery training at University of Chicago and received my PhD in Immunology while at University of Chicago. I am currently a trauma and critical care fellow at University of Chicago with plans to transition to faculty and continue my research on host-microbiota-pathogen interactions.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
