Dr. Stone recently became the Director of the Medication Safety program within CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. She is a Board-certified infectious disease physician with over a decade of public health experience developing guidance and implementation resources to track and prevent infections and antibiotic resistant pathogens, and improve use of antibiotics, in post-acute and long-term care settings. She brings this background in promotion and advocacy for improving health outcomes for older adults to advance the priorities of the Medication Safety program through policy and partnerships. Dr. Stone did her internal medicine residency and a year of clinical pharmacology at Johns Hopkins University before doing her fellowship in infectious diseases at Emory University.
