Itzchak (Itsik) Levy is currently the director of the HIV/STDs center and runs the infectious diseases outpatient clinic at the Sheba medical center and serves as a consultant physician at the Sheba medical center in patients and Maccabi HMO. He is a professor at the Sackler medical school. His special interest include HIV/AIDS and opportunistic infections, STDs and prevention of spread of resistance bacteria. Prof Levy has founded the Israeli AIDS medical association and is involved with the NGOs (The Israeli AIDS task force, the LGBTQ association and more) in improving life of people living with HIV and HIV prevention programs. He was involved in introducing PREP in the country and in the prevention of STDS, and was the first to describe the lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) epidemic among MSM in Israel. He has more than 60 peer reviewed publications and has coauthored local and national guidelines regarding diagnosis and treatment in various infectious diseases. During the corona period involved in interventional studies and follow-up of Covid-19 patients. Established the Corona convalescent clinic in Sheba.
