Bogusz Aksak-Wąs, MD, PhD, works at the Provincial Hospital in Szczecin as specialist in infectious diseases and at the Clinic of Infectious, Tropical and Acquired Immunodeficiencies as a assistant professor. In 2021, he obtained a PhD in medical sciences for his thesis titled: Assessment of the relationship between selected genetic variants of HLA-C, HLA-B and chemokine receptors and reconstruction of immune function and survival of people living with human immunodeficiency virus. And in 2023, he obtained a post-doctoral degree for his scientific achievement titled: "The impact of host genetic variability on the clinical course of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 infection." He belongs to Polish AIDS Scientific Society, where since 2024 he is a member of the Audit Committee, Polish Society of Epidemiologists and Infectious Diseases Physicians, where from 2021 he was vice-chairman and from 2024 chairman of the West Pomeranian Branch if the Society. Additionally, he is a member of the EACS and IAS societies. He is a co-creator of the recommendations of the Polish AIDS Scientific Society. He is the author and co-author of many scientific works published in international periodicals and author of congress summaries.
