Dr. Adam Gailani is a pediatric infectious diseases fellow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is from Franklin Tennessee and attended the University of Wisconsin Madison for unergraduate. He attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis Tennessee before completing his pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He is currently in his second year of pediatric infectious disesaes fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His research in residency focused on the epidemiology of common respiratory viruses in children. During fellowship, he is continuing epidemiologic research into common respiratory viruses with Dr. Natasha Halasa and the New Vaccine Surveillance Network. This research focuses on adenovirus and the effects of the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 on adenovirus circulation as well as the different factors that influence disease severity in adenovirus infections. When not at work, Adam loves to spend time with his beautiful wife and daughter, Allene and Lyra. They enjoy walking and hiking in local parks, and trying new reasturaunts and bakeries.
