Dr. Jacqueline Hodges, MD MPH is an assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Duke University. She is also currently an HIV, Infectious Disease and Global Health Implementation Research Institute (HIGH IRI) scholar through the Center for Dissemination and Implementation at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests include designing and evaluating patient-centered low barrier care interventions that increase access to evidence-based treatments for infectious diseases, particularly for stigmatized illnesses, including among those with active substance use.
She has experience applying implementation science methods to design, adapt, scale and evaluate multi-feature smartphone applications to support treatment for HIV, tuberculosis and opioid use disorder. Her work has been based in Washington DC, Virginia, Russia, and Tanzania. She completed residency and fellowship at the University of Virginia through the ABIM Research Pathway. She received a dual MD/MPH degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia.
