Khalid M. Dousa, MD Physician-Scientist and Research Scholar et CWRU and the Cleveland VA Medical Center. Passion has been understanding the fundamental biochemistry and microbiology of Mycobacteria
After completing his MD at the University of Khartoum, Khalid obtained degrees from the London School of Economics and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He then pursued residency training at the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, and subsequently with us at University Hospitals and the VA. After this, he pursued an ID Fellowship with specialized training in nontuberculous mycobacterial infections at National Jewish.
Khalid followed up his ID Fellowship with an advanced research fellowship through the VISN 10 GRECC at the VA, during which time he continued to pursue basic science research related to mycobacterial infections at the Cleveland VA.
Assistant Professor of Medicine at CWRU, and a member of the Editorial Board for the journal Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy. Major interest is in combination therapies for nontuberculous mycobacterial infection.
