Emma Granberry is a third-year medical student at UAB Heersink School of Medicine with interests in both adult and pediatric ID, particularly in HIV care. She is from Dothan, Alabama and completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at Auburn University. Her scholarly activities have focused on pediatric invasive Group A Streptococcus infections, pediatric C. difficile infections, and the impacts of mentorship within medical education. In her roles as Co-Director of Montgomery Outreach Ministries and President of the Infectious Disease Interest Group at UAB Heersink School of Medicine, Emma has worked with local HIV clinics to increase access to free HIV and STI testing through mobile health clinics and local health fairs. Emma has particular interests in health equity and improving healthcare access in underserved, rural areas.
