Edward Traver, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the division of Infectious Disease and Institute of Human Virology (IHV) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. He attended the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and completed internal medicine residency and infectious disease fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He serves on the Medicine-ID admitting service and the general ID consultation service. He provides ID care at a co-located medical and addiction clinic in west Baltimore, including HIV, hepatitis C, and post-hospital care for serious injection related infections. He has a particular interest in medical education and the cause and care of injection-related skin ulcers, and is an investigator in the Research Initiative in Infectious Disease and Substance Use at the IHV. He is a Co-I leading a multi-site implementation-effectiveness study focused on reducing rehospitalization in people with infectious complications of injection drug use.
