Christina L. Sancken, MPH CHES, is a Health Scientist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, Division of Birth Defects and Infant Disorders. Mrs. Sancken has worked in maternal and child health the grand majority of her career, including as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Peru. In her current role, Mrs. Sancken works with state and local partners to conduct public health surveillance on emerging threats that impact pregnant people and their infants, such as Zika, syphilis, congenital cytomegalovirus, and Oropouche.
Mrs. Sancken holds an MPH in Global Health with a concentration in Infectious Disease from Emory University and a BS in Health Science from Truman State University.
