Dr. Zhe Zheng, B.Med, PhD, is the Associate Director of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at Moderna. With a dual background in preventive medicine and statistical analysis, Dr. Zheng focuses on the study of respiratory viruses, particularly Avian Influenza, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV). Her research is dedicated to understanding the epidemiology of these pathogens, with special attention to vulnerable populations such as children, older adults, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Zheng's work is deeply rooted in mathematical modeling and data-driven approaches to better predict and manage infectious disease outbreaks. At Moderna, she focuses on RSV and hMPV, leading efforts to develop and implement strategies that leverage mRNA technology to prevent and control these respiratory infections.
Throughout her career, Dr. Zheng has been actively involved in both academic and industry collaborations, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical applications.
