Xiaowei Zhan, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Health Data Science & Biostatistics at the Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center, leads a dynamic research group focused on developing cutting-edge methods to advance biomedical research. As part of the Quantitative Biomedical Research Center (QBRC) and the Center for the Genetics and Host Defense (CGHD), Dr. Zhan’s work integrates deep learning and the latest sequencing technologies to address critical challenges in healthcare. In recent years, his team has pioneered innovative approaches for antibiotic resistance prediction, contributing valuable insights to help mitigate one of the most pressing global health threats.
