Dr. Lefebvre attended Medical School at McGill University (Montreal, Canada), completed a Pediatrics Residency at the Floating Hospital for Children in Boston, Massachusetts, and subsequently returned to McGill for a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship, which she completed in 2014. She then pursued a Fellowship in Infection Prevention and Control at Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto, Canada) under the mentorship of Dr. Allison McGeer, and obtained a MSc in Quality Improvement & Patient Safety from the University of Toronto. She has been a Pediatric Infectious Diseases consultant at the Montreal Children's Hospital, McGill University Health Centre, since July 2016. She is the Medical Director of the Infection Prevention and Control Program and of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. She also co-leads the Congenital Infections Clinic, which includes a cohort of HIV-infected and exposed patients. Her research interests include the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and improvement in antimicrobial use using quality improvement methods.
