Nicholas Franko B.S. is a research coordinator in the lab of Dr. Helen Chu at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. His work focuses on overseeing a longitudinal cohort of recovered COVID-19 patients that have been enrolled and followed since the onset of the pandemic. This study has worked with collaborators to develop vaccines, therapeutics and provide clinical insights into defining post-COVID conditions. Work has also centered around researching the immunes system’s response to SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination. Previous projects involved environmental sampling in homeless shelters throughout the Seattle area. This work was part of the Seattle Flu Study.
He is currently perusing a career in clinical medicine.
