Guilherme Lira, MD is a general practicioner associated with NEEDIER Carlos Chagas, a recently created center for emerging and reemerging infectious diseases at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He is also a PhD candidate at the same university, at the Paulo de Góes Institute of Microbiology (IMPG). His work focuses on acute viral diseases, with published work on diagnosis and immune responses to COVID-19 and mpox.
