Bhim Gopal Dhoubhadel, M.B.B.S., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nagasaki University, Japan, where he also serves in the Department of Respiratory Infections at the Institute of Tropical Medicine. He holds a Ph.D. in Infectious Diseases from Nagasaki University, along with advanced diplomas in Pediatrics and Tropical Medicine.
Dr. Dhoubhadel specializes in respiratory infections, with a focus on pneumococcal diseases, serotyping, and novel diagnostic assay development. His research has led to significant contributions in the study of pneumonia, antimicrobial resistance, and child health, particularly in resource-limited settings like Nepal and Afghanistan, and pneumonia in old adults in Japan. He has been published extensively and has received numerous research grants, including the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
He has contributed to training the next generation of global health professionals, supervising Ph.D. and master’s students at Nagasaki University and in the joint Ph.D. program with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
