Danica Gomes is currently a Medical Officer with the Dialysis Safety Team in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she works to help improve infection prevention and control (IPC) practices in healthcare settings and combat the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Danica has a strong and extensive background in working to strengthen IPC and AMR programs, and build emergency departments and systems in international settings with a focus in low- and middle- income countries. She is also an Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine dual-trained physician and enjoys practicing clinically, in addition to her work in public health.
