Veena Ramachandran, MD, MPH is a Lieutenant Commander in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, assigned to the Pneumonia and Streptococcus Epidemiology Branch, previously known as the Respiratory Diseases Branch, with the Division of Bacterial Diseases at the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. She is a pediatric infectious disease physician. She graduated with a B.S. from The Pennsylviania State University and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University. She completed her pediatric residency at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in 2008, her pediatric infectious disease fellowship at New York University in 2014, and her Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2020.
