Dr. Mikael de Lorenzi-Tognon is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He earned his medical degree in 2013 from the University of Geneva in Switzerland, followed by an MD-PhD in microbiology in 2016. Dr. Mikael de Lorenzi-Tognon completed his clinical training in General Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Geneva University Hospitals in 2023. He is now engaged in a postdoctoral fellowship in medical microbiology in San Francisco, which is part of his subspecialisation in diagnostic medical microbiology and expected to conclude in 2027. His professional interests include clinical metagenomics and the application of artificial intelligence to enhance patient care in infectious diseases, with a particular focus on developing innovative diagnostic assays for improved disease management.
