Dr. Bismarck Steven Bisono Garcia is a dedicated physician originally from the Dominican Republic, where he earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra, also serving as a laboratory instructor. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Barnabas Health System in the Bronx, New York. Currently, he is a third-year Infectious Diseases Fellow at Mayo Clinic, with a special interest in HIV, immunocompromised hosts, and health equity.
In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Bisono Garcia actively contributes to the medical community as Vice-Chair of the IDSA Fellows Community of Practice, Advocacy Captain for IDSA/HIVMA, and a fellow leader in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion group at Mayo Clinic’s Infectious Diseases department. He is also an instructor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and Science, where he shares his expertise and passion for teaching.
