Kaede Ota Sullivan is a board-certified infectious diseases specialist and medical microbiologist. She is Professor and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Associate Director of the Microbiology, Virology & Immunology Laboratories at the Temple University Health System. She holds a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Health Care Research from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple. She has served on a number of national committees including the SHEA Diagnostic Stewardship Task Force, the HICPAC NHSN Surveillance Workgroup, and the College of American Pathologists’ Microbiology Committee. She also serves on the Joint Commission Infection Control (IC) Laboratory (LAB) Accreditation Program Standards Review Panel. Her research focuses on optimization of microbiology laboratory policies that impact infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
