Dr. Emily Thorell is a Professor of Pediatrics Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Utah and Primary Children´s Hospital. She received her medical degree from the University of Utah and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Thorell’s interests include appropriate antimicrobial use, care process development, the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2, hospital epidemiology and faculty coaching/mentoring. She is Director of Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship (including Tele-Stewardship) and Associate Hospital Epidemiologist for Intermountain Children's Health/Primary Children’s Hospital.
