Dr. Damani Piggott is Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and the Department of Epidemiology, and Executive Director of the Vivien Thomas Scholars Initiative at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Piggott’s research centers on understanding the biological, behavioral, and social determinant pathways necessary to improve survival and quality of life for persons aging with HIV. He has worked on clinical and research projects in the United States, the Caribbean, West Africa, and South Africa. Dr. Piggott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Spanish from Morehouse College. He obtained his PhD degree in Immunology and his medical degree from Yale University. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital and fellowship training in Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Piggott is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
