Paul Bollyky, MD, PhD is a Professor and Interim Division Chief of Infectious Diseases at Stanford University. He completed his PhD at Oxford, and attended Harvard for Medical School. He received his medical training at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and his Infectious Diseases training at the University of Washington. Paul has been a faculty member at Stanford since 2013. The Bollyky Lab studies chronic bacterial skin and lung infections with a particular emphasis on bacteriophages – viruses that infect bacteria. The Bollyky lab is working to understand how phages influence bacterial behavior and to develop phages as therapies for antimicrobial resistant infections. When Paul is not in the hospital or the lab you can find him rowing.
