Ghady Haidar, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh and a Transplant ID physician at UPMC. He is the Program Director for the Transplant ID Fellowship and Medical Director of the Translational Research Unit at UPMC. Dr. Haidar is a translational clinician investigator funded by the NIH, industry, and foundation, and has focused on optimizing the management of difficult-to-treat infections in immunocompromised individuals. As Chair of Phage Clinical Trials and Therapeutic Applications at the Pittsburgh Phage Program (P3), he collaborates with basic scientists to oversee the “bench to bedside” applications of phage therapy at the University of Pittsburgh and other centers. Dr. Haidar also collaborates with his P3 colleagues on translational bacteriophage research and has led both investigator-initiated and sponsor-initiated bacteriophage trials.
