Dr. Fangman is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School who completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics through the Harvard Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Program. Following his residency he served as Assistant Director of the Harvard Med-Peds residency program and was a primary care provider at MGH Chelsea and Upham’s Corner Health Center. He chose to focus on the care of patients living with HIV, pursuing adult infectious training through the Mass General Brigham Combined Infectious Disease Program. After completing his fellowship in 2005, he joined the faculty at Medical College of Wisconsin in 2005, where he held several leadership roles including Medical Director of the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, Division Chief for Infectious Disease, Medical Director of Infusion Services, Director for Collaborative Urban Clinical Programs and Senior Medical Director for Ambulatory Services at Froedtert Hospital. He returned to Boston in October 2020 as Chief Medical Officer for Mass General Brigham Community Physicians where his work has involved population health, quality, ambulatory operations, and physician and care team wellbeing. His clinical interests include the care of persons living with HIV infection, Lyme Disease, and other vector-borne infections and in ambulatory infectious disease with a particular emphasis on improving access to care, promoting safety and quality, and enhancing the experience of care for both patients and clinicians.
