Dr. Alexander Sundermann is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Genomic Epidemiology. Dr. Sundermann's research focuses on the use and application of whole genome sequencing surveillance and machine learning of the electronic health record to detect and investigate healthcare outbreaks. He is a Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology (FAPIC) as well as board certified in infection control (CIC).
