Alice Kim, MD, MBA is the newly appointed President/CEO of ID Care, New Jersey’s largest single specialty group practice dedicated to Infectious Diseases. ID Care has a strong foundation of clinical care and research and the delivery of the highest quality patient care. ID Care has over 100 physician and advanced practice providers with 10 outpatient offices across northern, central and eastern New Jersey, servicing over 170 hospitals, long-term and post-acute care facilities. ID Care promotes innovative health care delivery models and fosters partnerships with health care systems and community heath leaders.
Prior to joining ID Care, Dr Kim had a 26 year career at the Cleveland Clinic as a clinician and a senior executive administrative leader. In her role as the Medical Director of Enterprise Medical Operations, she provided leadership to clinical staff and implemented process improvements throughout the care continuum. She was appointed the Clinical Operational Lead for the construction, strategy development, clinical programming, and operations of the newest regional hospital for the Cleveland Clinic Health System which opened in 2023. As a member of the Board of Directors for Select Medical and Cleveland Clinic Joint Ventures, she advanced program development as well as operational excellence for six partner hospitals. Dr Kim continues to serve on the Cleveland Clinic Alumni Board of Directors as Vice President of Membership.
Her clinical interests include cardiac device infections and infective endocarditis.
Dr. Kim was a leader in response to the COVID pandemic and Mpox health emergency. She served as a co-commander in CC’s Enterprise Incident Management Team and was appointed as the state of Ohio’s Zone One Clinical Leader for COVID efforts and served as co-Medical Director of the FEMA mass vaccination site in Cleveland, OH. She received the Ohio Commendation Medal, recognized in 2020 as a Cleveland Clinic COVID Hero, and in 2021 and 2022 recived the Caregiver Team Award, and the Enterprise Pharmacy Distinguished Partner Award in 2022.
Dr. Kim completed her Executive Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Business in 2021. She received her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 1997. She completed IM/Ped residency and ID fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in 2003. She is the former IDSA Clinical Affairs Committee Chair, has served on advisory committees and task forces and currently serves as an Advocacy Captain.
