Dr. Rachael Lee is an Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and the Chief Healthcare Epidemiologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In this role, she leads and manages a large team of physicians and infection preventionists and is integrally involved in healthcare management, including regulatory review, patient safety, quality improvement, clinical practice and education, and public reporting of infections. Her research focuses on the complex relationship between hospital epidemiology, antibiotic resistance, and antibiotic stewardship and implementing processes to prevent morbid infections in vulnerable patients.
