Karen Bloch, MD, MPH, FACP, FIDSA is a Professor and Associate Director of Clinical Affairs in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her research and clinical interests focus on infections of the central nervous system (CNS) and tickborne infections. She was Principal Investigator of the Tennessee Unexplained Encephalitis Surveillance (TUES) study and a co-author of the IDSA Encephalitis Guidelines and the International Encephalitis Consortium Consensus Statement on Case Definitions and Diagnostic Algorithms. She has published more than 50 articles and chapters related to infections of the central nervous system and vector-borne infections.
