Casey Smiley, MD, is an infectious disease specialist and Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Her research and clinical interests include general infectious diseases, wound care, obstetric infections, medical education, and quality improvement. After completing her undergraduate degree at Ohio Wesleyan University in Microbiology and Spanish, she earned her medical degree at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Disease Fellowship at VUMC. Dr. Smiley joined faculty in July of 2023, and is board certified in Internal Medicine.
