Kristine Erlandson, MD MS is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado. Dr. Erlandson completed her undergraduate degree at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, her medical degree at Southern Illinois University, her residency/chief residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and her infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Colorado. Dr. Erlandson is passionate about improving the health and quality of life of older adults with HIV. Her research encompasses potential complications of HIV and antiretroviral therapy including weight gain, falls and fractures, sarcopenia, and frailty. She has led a variety of studies locally and within the ACTG to describe these complications and associated risk factors. She also leads interventional and community-based studies focused on improving the health and quality of life while aging with HIV, through nutrition/physical activity, exercise, treatment of fatty liver, and developing geriatric care models.
