Tara Vijayan, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, the Medical Director of Adult Antimicrobial Stewardship and the Medical Director of the CARE Clinic serving people with HIV. She held leadership positions in undergraduate medical education for 8 years, but now serves as an Associate Program Director for the UCLA Multicampus Fellowship. She continues to teach at all levels. In addition, she serves as a section co-editor for the State-of-the-Art Review section in Clinical Infectious Diseases and is an at large member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Medical Education Executive Committee. Her research and clinical passions include equity, storytelling, medical education and all things infectious diseases. She is proud to call herself an Angeleno (by way of Northern New Jersey and the San Francisco Bay Area). She lives in the sleepy beach town of El Segundo (home of the 2023 Little League World Series Champs) with her kids, pup, and family physician husband.
