Jose Pablo Diaz Madriz, PharmD, MSc. Dr. Diaz Madriz is an infectious diseases clinical pharmacist and a pharmacology specialist. Currently, he serves as Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator and the Coordinator of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (AMS) at Clínica Bíblica Hospital, San José, Costa Rica.
Dr. Díaz Madriz has worked as an international consultant for the Pan American Health Organization in research and strengthening of AMS in Latin America. He has worked in workshops in Central and South America related to AMS implementation and optimization of antibiotic use and has published on implementation of AMS interventions.
He is a Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Costa Rica and the University of Medical Sciences (UCIMED).
Dr. Díaz Madriz has worked as an advisor for the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. He is a Member of the National Commission on Antimicrobial Resistance and is one of the co-authors of Costa Rica National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance. In Costa Rica he is also a member of the National Strategy for Surveillance of AMR from INCIENSA (Instituto Costarricense de Investigación y Enseñanza en Nutrición y Salud).
