Disclosure(s): No financial relationships to disclose
I am Catherine Nimely, a 2005 graduate from Cuttington University in Liberia where I earned my first-degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I work for The University of North Carolina Global Projects-Liberia as Research Project Manager on the CEPI funded Enable Lassa Fever programme.
I have worked as a professional nurse for two years and later started a public health journey especially at the community level where my interest has been drawn.
I have worked for many international institutions and served at different levels ranging from social worker to a managerial position at which time I demonstrated strong community engagement skills that led the institution in achieving its goal.
In 2018, I was fortunate to embarked on a clinical research path with Austere Consortium for Enhance Sepsis Outcome (ACESO) and later joined UNC Global Projects on A Collaborative Longitudinal Epidemiological Study of Lassa Fever in Liberia whose goal is to gather data to inform the design of Phase IIb and III randomized, placebo-controlled vaccine trails.
I have gone through a series of trainings and workshops prior and present to my current position as it relates to research that has impacted communities in which we serve, coupled with this, I strongly believe there are more to complement previous acquired skills that will enhance my work performance and add value to the organization goals and objective.
Showcasing our work is something I always wanted. I believe with my particcipation in the upcoming confrence to show the results our work and how far we we want to explore will foster collaborations with other partners in hopes of finding a clue for Lassa virus.
