Dr Chan graduated from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007 with several academic merits. She has joined Department of Medicine in Queen Elizabeth Hospital since 2008 and obtained her Infectious Disease Fellowship in 2014. She had outstanding academic performance, achieving the highest mark in her Advanced Internal Medicine Exit Assessment and completing her MSc in Infectious Diseases with Merit.
She sees a career in Hematology/Oncology Infectious Diseases as one where she enjoys solving problems and benefiting transplant recipients and patients with malignancies. She gained experience in treating these patients in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, one of the best hospitals among the US cancer hospitals, during her overseas training as a clinical investigator.
Dr Chan volunteered to join the Isolation Team in QEH since the start of the pandemic in Jan 2020, where she was actively involved in the daily management of COVID-19 patients, and assisted the establishment of territory-wide COVID-19 clinic. She received the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Kowloon Central Cluster Young Achiever Awards in 2023 for her service contribution to COVID-19.
